▪️Destination Links

Destination Links are the landing pages the operator uploads and can be grabbed by the Affiliate in order to track their traffic.

The destination links are separated per brand and type, and can have different attributes like Language, Vertical, Currency or any other attribute you choose to “segment” your pages with, which will also be available for reporting and analysis.

These attributes can be configured to your own “flavour” and are picked by the operator.

To define new or edit existing attributes for segmenting and reporting of your Destination Links, refer to “Custom Tags“

How does the tracker works?

Destination links are used from affiliates to bring traffic to your casino/sports betting site.

The operator creates a landing page, or uses an existing one and creates a "Destination Link" in TAP backoffice, for the Affiliate to use. See below how to create a Destination Link.

The affiliate will login to TAP and grab the link in its tracked version, so he can post it on his ads or website.

Once a player clicks the link, we create a tracker (unique for each click) and the user lands on your casino/sports betting site and makes a registration. The casino or sports betting platform has to keep the unique tracker and send it to us during the registration reporting process.

This tracker allows us to attribute the registration and any future actions to the affiliate who generated the initial click. This mapping ensures that affiliates are properly credited for the traffic they generate.

NB: Make sure that the link structure used is in accordance with your platform provider convention.

To create a new Destination Link simply follow these steps:

  1. Go to “Destination Links” under Affiliate Desk tab

  2. Click “Create“

  3. Choose a name to describe your page (i.e Roulette Landing page with welcome offer)

  4. Choose the brand this Link will be related to

  5. Choose the “Link type“

  • Registration page

  • Landing page

  • Homepage

  • Other

6. Put a Description of the landing page for you and for the Affiliates to see

7. Place the link of the Destination (the final page the player will be navigated to) For example https://yoursite.com, dynamic parameters can be added to the link. View explanation below.

Private Landing Page

Your landing pages and destination links can be either Public, and accessed by all Affiliates to be grabbed from the system and send traffic with, and they can also be Private.

Landing page with a special logo of an affiliate website, or a specific bonus offer given exclusively to a specific source of traffic, has to be private and inaccessible to the rest of the affiliates in the platform.

To make your links private simply:

  1. Choose NO under “Public“

  2. A new “Visible only for affiliates” drop down will appear, simply choose any of the Affiliates on the list. Multiple choice is supported.

When creating your links, some dynamic parameters can be added to your destination URL in order to enrich the redirected URL with additional parameters so that the platform (i.e. casino platform) will be able to use those parameters as desired (for example in User Profile, such as affiliate ID)

These are examples of URL Parameters for your Destination Link:

  • {{tracker}}Must be present, later to be sent to Smartico for visit matching. Each visit is tracked separately and uniquely, the tracker is generated automatically by Smartico.

  • {{affiliate_id}} – Smartico affiliate id associated with the clicked URL. This way the platform provider can save the affiliate ID and place it in the User Profile.

  • {{affiliate_name}} – Smartico affiliate name associated with the clicked URL

  • {{link_type}} – The type of the Destination link

  • {{link_name}} – The name of the Destination link

  • {time}} – Server time in milliseconds

  • {{campaign_name}} – Affiliate Campaign Name associated with the clicked link

  • {{campaign_id}} - Affiliate Campaign ID associated with the clicked link

  • {{p}} - Introducing support for a specific scenario in which the parameter value from a tracked link can be easily incorporated into the destination link. (example: tracked link: https://go.aff.affprogram.vip/hi7843h?example_parameter=bonus25 Destination link configuration by the operator: https://casino.com/{{_p_example_parameter}}/?tracker={{tracker}} Resolution: https://casino.com/bonus25/?tracker=lkjsddsjfhfgkahsjv By placing the dynamic parameter "_p_" the affiliate himself can change the destination within the rules defined by the operator, a classic example is linking to specific sport matches, where URLs change rapidly based on the match ID. The affiliate would add "example_parameter=5555111" which today would link to "Inter Milan vs Juventus" and tomorrow will change it to 11116666 which is a different match, yet the operator does not have to create new destination links for it.

  • {{referrer}} - a referrer website in case it’s visible by the affiliate system

Example URL: https://yoursite.com/?btag={{tracker}}&aff_name={{affiliate_name}}

The URL parameter (key) would match the operators platform term, and the dynamic value will be taken from Smartico Affiliate system. The link transformation is flexible and will match the platform provider convention.

Destination links can be related to Media Assets like Emails or Banners. In order for the Media Asset to be pointed to the right path, a link must be made between the two.

When the affiliate will choose a banner or an email, that banner is associated with a link, clicking on that banner will lead to the destination link.

To link a Destination Link to a Media Asset simply choose from the drop down menu the right Email or Banner.

Once the connection has been made, this Destination Link will be available to the Affiliate when grabbing the “Welcome mailer 1” from the affiliate platform, so all links in the mailer can be directed to this destination.

The Destination Link in question will be one of the options for choice where the Media Asset will point to.

To create new media assets, refer to “Media Assets

You can define an alternative destination link for A/B testing.

In this case, end-users will be sent to either the first link or to the second with a 50/50 percent distribution. That way, the performance of both landing pages can be analyzed by looking at the distribution of "A" and "B" variants in the "AFP9" dimension.
